From the industry segment landing page, click the ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES option. Get here by selecting your industry segment from the HOME page.Click on each tile to reveal the environmentally preferable practices relevant to a workflow area. See next page to learn more.
Click on a practice to see if there is more guidance for it.
Use the columns on the right for guidance on practice value. Mouse over each column’s graphic heading for the title: Environmental, Operational and maintenance, Financial, Implementation ease. These four value factors are rolled into an AVERAGE value intended to roughly indicate which practices are of highest combined value.
Click on the LEGEND at the bottom of the page for color key definitions. Colors give a rough ranking of value: Low, Medium, High, Gold (i.e. Very high)
Use the planning tool

Select PLANNING (top right), then
Click the tile you want to browse for improvement opportunities.
Use your SCORECARD to prioritize your focus (see example):
- Workflow areas (tiles) with high weights (percentage under tile) in which you score low.
- Areas where your organization benchmarks low relative to peers.
Click a tile to view relevant practices, peer implementation rate, and your extent of practice implementation.
Use the OPPORTUNITY SCORE column to guide your selection of actions in the SELECT FOR IMPROVEMENT PLAN column (high score = high environmental and business value).
Click the orange PLANNING DASHBOARD button (page bottom) to view a dashboard which shows the impact of your selections on your overall score and benchmark position.

TSP GHG Emissions Estimator Tool is a Web-based implementation of the spreadsheets made available publicly by the Green House Protocol. The Green House Protocol spreadsheet-based tool is considered one of the most accurate GHG Emissions Estimator tool available publicly.
If you are curious, or want to verify the correctness of TSP's Web-based implementation, you can find the source code available as Open Source on GitHub.
